Pradip Madan
Pradip has served on W3i's board since inception. Prior to that, he served on Freeze.com's board. He currently is the president of Microland, and is responsible for Microland's focus on international business. Pradip brings with him several years of unique, in-depth experience across all critical high-tech sectors - application software, data warehousing, CRM, application hosting and IT including multi-NOC environments, storage systems, wireless communications, networking, embedded systems, CAE software and semiconductors.
Previously, Pradip was President of 123Signup, Inc., a leading application service provider for event registrations and membership management based in North America. He was founding CEO and COO at Rivio, a company that built back-office applications for small businesses and was later sold to CPA2Biz. Prior to that, he was Vice-President of Corporate Marketing for Adaptec ($1B), where he managed marketing for 15 business units. He served as Vice President of Corporate Development and Director of Product Marketing at Echelon ($125M), and led the development of 80+ products and adoption of the company's technology among 3,200 OEMs as a global standard. Earlier, he served as VP of Sales and Marketing for Matra Harris Corporation, a joint venture between Matra ($5B, France) and Harris ($1.7B, US), subsequently sold to Daimler Benz. He launched his career at Intel Corporation.
Pradip holds: a B.S. in Physics from University of Delhi; a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.S. in Computer Science, both magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania; and an M.B.A. with honors from the Wharton School of Business. He is a member of the Eta Kappa Nu, Tau Beta Pi, and Beta Gamma Sigma honor societies. He is Chairman of AAMA, an Asia-focused entrepreneurship organization, and a charter member of TiE.
